Guest Conductor – Paul Leddington Wright

An internationally known conductor and composer from England, Mr. Wright serves as Secretary of the Royal Almonary.  As such, he has the responsibility of organizing the Royal Maundy Service every year for Her Majesty the Queen.

Myers Park Presbyterian Church hosted the Festival of Church Music in their sanctuary on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 7:00 pm.  A sanctuary full of enthusiastic singers and congregants who appreciate sacred music filled the space with glorious sound.

The Festival of Church Music was the first of its kind in Charlotte.  We hope it will become an annual event!

Ten area choirs participated in this interdenominational festival!

The choirs and audience were accompanied by a brass ensemble and organ.  The organists were Dr. Michael Grant of Myers Park Presbyterian Church and Susan Bates of Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem.

For more information and the full list of the participating choirs, view the Festival announcement poster.
